Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MyNigerianGuide, operated by MyNigerianGuide Limited ("MyNigerianGuide", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on MyNigerianGuide. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Accounts

MyNigerianGuide offers two types of accounts: personal accounts, for individuals browsing and interacting with businesses, and business pages, for advertising services, sharing updates, and connecting with customers. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account.

3. Business pages and verification

If you create a business page, you confirm that you are authorised to represent that business and that the information you provide is accurate and not misleading.

Business owners may apply for a verified badge by submitting a CAC registration number and supporting documents. We review these applications at our discretion and may approve, reject, or revoke verification status at any time, including where we reasonably suspect the information provided is false or fraudulent.

MyNigerianGuide does not independently confirm the accuracy of every business listing and is not responsible for the conduct, products, or services of any business listed on the platform.

4. Content you post

You retain ownership of the posts, reviews, comments, and photos you submit ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant MyNigerianGuide a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it as part of operating the Service.

You agree not to post content that:

• Is false, defamatory, or misleading
• Infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy
• Is abusive, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory
• Is spam, or promotes a business you have no genuine connection to
• Violates any applicable law

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion, with or without notice.

5. Reviews

Reviews must reflect a genuine experience with the business being reviewed. Posting fake reviews, or offering or accepting payment in exchange for a review, is prohibited and may result in account suspension.

6. Advertising campaigns

Business owners may purchase advertising campaigns to boost visibility for specific services in specific locations. Campaign pricing is calculated based on our pricing formula (which accounts for demand and competition) or, where set, a fixed price determined by MyNigerianGuide.

Any image or caption submitted as part of a campaign is subject to our review and may be rejected at our discretion. Rejection of creative content does not cancel or refund the underlying placement, which continues to run without the rejected image.

Campaigns may be paused and resumed freely. Ending a campaign early, or removing a target from an active campaign, does not entitle you to a refund for the unused portion. Adding a new target to an already-active campaign is charged separately, based on the campaign's remaining duration.

7. Payments

All payments are processed in Nigerian Naira (₦) through Paystack, our third-party payment processor. By making a payment, you agree to Paystack's own terms of service in addition to these Terms. All advertising purchases are final once a campaign is activated, except as described in Section 6.

8. Prohibited conduct

In addition to the content rules in Section 4, you agree not to:

• Impersonate another person or business
• Attempt to circumvent our verification or moderation processes
• Use automated means to scrape, copy, or extract data from the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's normal operation
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

9. Reporting and moderation

If you see content or a business page that violates these Terms, you can report it using the report feature. We review reports and take action at our discretion, which may include removing content, restricting features, or suspending accounts.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or put other users or the Service at risk.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that business listings are accurate, complete, or up to date, and we are not responsible for any transaction, interaction, or dispute between users and businesses found through MyNigerianGuide.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyNigerianGuide Limited will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
