Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MyNigerianGuide (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing the Platform.

MyNigerianGuide is operated by MyNigerianGuide Ltd, registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MyNigerianGuide.

2. Description of Service

MyNigerianGuide is a Nigerian business directory and social platform that enables:

  • Individuals to create personal accounts and follow businesses
  • Businesses to create pages, post updates, and interact with customers
  • Users to search for and discover verified Nigerian businesses
  • Users to leave reviews and ratings for businesses they have interacted with
  • Businesses to purchase sponsored placements in search results

3. User Accounts

3.1 Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

3.2 Account security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at support@mynigerianguide.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

3.3 One account per person. Each individual may maintain only one personal account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited and may result in permanent suspension.

3.4 Business pages. Business pages must represent real, operating businesses. The creation of fake, misleading, or fraudulent business pages is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and potential legal action.

4. User Conduct

When using the Platform, you agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory content about any business or individual
  • Submit fake reviews or engage in review manipulation
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users or businesses
  • Post content that is abusive, hateful, discriminatory, or sexually explicit
  • Impersonate any person, business, or organisation
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Nigerian law
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise systematically extract data from the Platform
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its systems
  • Upload malware, viruses, or any malicious code

5. Content and Intellectual Property

5.1 Your content. You retain ownership of content you post on the Platform. By posting content, you grant MyNigerianGuide a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with the Platform.

5.2 Our content. The Platform design, features, trademarks, and all content created by MyNigerianGuide are owned by us and protected by Nigerian and international intellectual property laws.

5.3 Content removal. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines without prior notice.

6. Reviews and Ratings

6.1 Honest reviews. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. You may only review businesses you have actually interacted with. Businesses may not solicit or incentivise fake reviews.

6.2 Business responses. Business owners may publicly respond to reviews. Responses must be professional and must not harass or threaten reviewers.

6.3 Review integrity. MyNigerianGuide reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these Terms, appear to be fraudulent, or have been flagged by multiple users.

7. Business Verification

CAC verification on MyNigerianGuide is a service that confirms a business's CAC registration number. Verification does not constitute an endorsement of any business by MyNigerianGuide. We reserve the right to revoke verified status if fraud is discovered. Providing false CAC information is a violation of these Terms and may be reported to relevant Nigerian authorities.

8. Sponsored Listings and Payments

8.1 Payment processing. Payments for sponsored listings are processed by Paystack and are subject to Paystack's terms and conditions. MyNigerianGuide does not store card details.

8.2 Refunds. Sponsored listings are non-refundable once activated. If a listing fails to activate due to a technical error on our part, we will issue a full refund within 5 business days.

8.3 Pricing. Prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira and are inclusive of any applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change pricing with 7 days' notice.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Content you have posted may remain on the Platform following termination as permitted by law.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. MyNigerianGuide does not warrant that any business listed on the Platform is legitimate, qualified, or will provide satisfactory services. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, MyNigerianGuide shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
